Noche de San Juan

In Valpo we celebrate St. John.....or better San Juan with fiestas celebrating the change of year. For us here is the longest night of the year... so tomorrow night the students and andean folk bands from the local Valpo's Catholic University will have their annual fiesta... There are other folk fiestas by the mapuche inmigrants from southern Chile who celebrates it a We tripantu in different neighborhoods and the asturian community who celebrates with dancing, gaita music and a queimada as noche de San Xoan next saturday night at the estadio español de Recreo.

Hot Jazz in Quilpué


Our friends of Rojo Caliente and Manush will be heating their jazzy licks next Thurday in Quilpué

Fiesta de la Música

Like in Europe this coming weekend we are going to have the Fête de la Musique, a world street festival done for the first time in Valparaiso being delivered by musicians using all available public space in streets and squares every June 21th.
Choirs, acoustic and world music groups will be at Victoria square from noon onwards. Celtic bands at 13: 20 (Tafechu, asturian folk ) and 15:30 (Riveira, celtic). Hot jazz with Rojo caliente at 13:40. If rains shows up, then everything will move to El Huevo at Pudeto (Bellavista). More info at www.21dejunio.cl
