Chilean irish sessions et al.

Sessions are part of the folk music traditions partially hidden in the chilean cities.... For the old time/irish sessions. Most of them start a house gatherings and some move to restaurants and bars..... For example Jazz and folk irish sessions are found at Club de Jazz de Santiago, Avda. "We meet every third Saturday of the month at the Club de Jazz de Santiago from 7 PM to 9 PM.Music played: traditional Irish music, basically jigs, reels and polkas.Level: Intermediate.Dancers are welcome - there is a dance board.The session is open, however there is a group of six core musicians.Instruments played: Uillean pipes, tin whistle, fiddle, bodhran, Irish flute, acustic guitar, mandolin ocasionally.All musicians interested in Irish Traditional Music are welcome. Please know your tunes by heart. A list of most frequently played tunes will be posted in the Club de Jazz website the week before.Anybody interested in being part of a mailing list should contact vbachelet@medwave.cl " .
